PETER ELLIS ALMY
1938-2014

Peter Ellis Almy, of Houston, passed away in his sleep Christmas morning at the age of 76. He now joins his parents, Charles Coit Almy and Olive Irene Almy and his brother, Charles Coit Almy Jr., who preceded him in death.
A loving husband, father, uncle, and grandfather, Peter's kindness and gentle nature was equal to his passion for learning and sharing with family and friends. A graduate of M.B. Lamar High School and Williams College in Williamstown, MA, Peter graduated Officer Candidate School and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany before returning to Houston to begin his career, marry his wife, Sarah, and start their family.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Talbott Gaitskill Almy; his sons and their families; Clay Ellis Almy and wife, Sarah Katherine Wood Almy and children Lila, Mairin, and Graham; John Gaitskill Almy; Matthew Talbott Almy and wife, Christina Anomaiprasert Almy and children, Owen, James, and Peter Wyatt; Peter is also survived by his brother's wife, Aurora Pagan Miranda Almy and family of Greensboro, North Carolina including her children Julia Irene Geniac, Jessica Eileen Almy-Pagan, Charles Edward Almy, and Teresa Almy Slack and their families; and sister in law, Ruth Lawton and her family of Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky.
A memorial service is to be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon of Friday, the 9th of January 2015 at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road in Houston with the Reverend Mary Wilson officiating.
