Marjorie Loraine Glenn

Marjorie (Pyka) Glenn, 78, of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017.  Born on May 26, 1938, in Hallettsville, TX, she was the daughter of Frank and Frances Pyka.  She graduated from Lamar High School in Houston, TX and married her Sweetheart, Chester, in Houston on September 5, 1959.  Marjorie enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning preserves and playing cards with her friends.  She always put her family first and will be dearly missed.  Preceded in death by her parents, and  step-brother, Charlie Pyka (Molly),  Mrs. Glenn is survived by her Husband, Chester Lee Glenn, Jr; three sons, Ronnie  (Lisa), Jeffrey  (Rachel), and Michael  (Kim);  grandchildren, Alexandra, Haylee, Brendan, Dillon, Julie, Madison, Abby, and Samuel;  sister, Frankie Kosik of Wharton, TX.  The Visitation will be on Monday, January 23, at Vaughan’s Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.  The Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan 24 at 12:00 noon at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the Boerne Cemetery.

ROBERT EADS 1938-2016


Robert Pope Eads, 77, joined the Heavenly Choir from his home on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Lucas Funeral Home. Bob was born Nov. 26, 1938, in Houston. He graduated from University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Transportation in 1961. He and Rosalynn met in Odessa in 1963 and married on Aug. 14, 1965. They moved to Hurst in 1969 after he began his career with IBM in 1968. Bob served 30 years with IBM before retiring in 1994 and continued as a contractor until 2003. He served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher at North Richland Hills Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Euless. Bob was a member of Christian Classic Cruisers with his prized 1967 Yellow Galaxie and a proud member of Gideons International. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Henry Ford Eads; and brother, Michael Ford Eads. Survivors: Mother, Pauline Eads of Bedford; loving wife of 51 years, Rosalynn Eads; daughters, Erin Eads Peart and husband, Greg, Robyn Eads Dobbs and husband, Mark, and Megan Eads Miller and husband, Chad; grandchildren, Trent and Grant Peart, Kyler and Addison Dobbs, and Maggie Kate Miller; and nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Glenn H. McCarthy, Jr. passed away on Thursday, the 12th of January 2017, in Houston. He was 78 years of age.

A more detailed and specific obituary is to be published in this Monday's edition of the Houston Chronicle.

A memorial service celebrating his life is to be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 18th of January, at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay Street in Houston, where Pastor Andy Cunningham is to officiate.  Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of customary remembrances, and for those desiring, Monday's notice is to also include a listing of philanthropic organizations to which memorial contributions may be directed.
