Esther Sue (Suzie) Robertson Snoddy
Esther Sue (Suzie) Robertson Snoddy, 84, died Thursday
September 7, 2023. She was born on November 22, 1938, in Houston, Texas to
Robert and Ruth Robertson. She attended Lamar High School and graduated from
the University of Texas in 1960.
The years she worked as Director of the Museum of Southern History and
assisting with the other HBU Museums were truly a blessing in her life. She was
a member of Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church, The Junior League of
Houston, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, and the Houston Baptist University Guild. She
enjoyed her numerous and diverse volunteer positions with these organizations.
Bible Study Fellowship and Community Bible Study brought her to a depth and
dimension that would give her life lasting purpose.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Jimmy, her parents, brother Robbie
Robertson, sister and brother-in-law Sara Nan and Tony Peterson, nephew Cal
Allen and step grandson Hayden McDonald. She is survived by son Jim Snoddy and
his wife Andrea, step grandson John D’Angelo, son Walter Snoddy and his wife
Susie, granddaughters Meredith and Madeline Snoddy, step granddaughter Maggie
McDonald, sister Carrie Robertson Allen and sister-in-law Irene Robertson
Franz, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wants to thank Suzie’s caregivers at The Legacy at Longmeadow,
Sterling Oaks Rehabilitation and Houston Hospice for their dedicated,
professional, and loving care.
Services are pending and will be announced at a later date.
