Jane HodellRomine 1938-2016


Jane Hodell Romine, died early Monday morning, May 23, 2016, at her sister's home in Houston. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Funeral Mass at Trinity Episcopal Church, Mother Carlye Hughes, celebrant. Memorials: To honor Jane's memory, please remember Trinity Episcopal Church, 3401 Bellaire Drive South, 76109, or the charity of your choice . Jane Louise Hodell was born on Oct. 23, 1938, in Dallas, to Henry Louis and Ruth Richter Hodell. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from SMU where she was a member of Chi Omega. Jane and Joe were lifelong members of Trinity Episcopal Church where she was a Stephen Minister. She was also active in Bible Study Fellowship. Jane was a founding member of BRIT. Jane was a strong cancer survivor for nine years. Joe Tschudy Romine, her husband of 47 years, died just two months ago on March 14, 2016. Survivors: Sister, Betty Hodell Byrd and her children, Scott Byrd and his wife, Kimberly, and their sons, Josh and Ryan, Ruthie Byrd Chuvac and her husband, Gustavo, and their daughters, Brandi, Stephanie and Rey; sister-in-law, Nancy Romine Gillis and her daughters, Ellen Carpenter and her husband, Gary, and their children Ryan Harkrider and Holly Sadler, and Emily Craven and her husband, Mark, and their children, Mollie Craven and Will Craven.

Carole Haynes Ball passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. She was born September 27, 1938 in Port Arthur, Texas to Hinton W. and Lora Lee Haynes. Graduating from Lamar High School in 1956, she married the love of her life, William D. Ball and together they raised a family while he practiced dentistry in Bellaire, Texas. With friends and family, they enjoyed many adventures until his death in 1996. Carole continued their dream of retirement in Pagosa Springs, Colorado where she has lived since 1998. Carole is preceded in death by her parents and sister Martha. She is survived by her sister Janette Welz, numerous nieces and nephews and her children Cassandra Kane and husband Thomas, Rebekah Ball, Julia Smith and husband Justin, and William R. Ball. Grandchildren Valerie, Katie, Lola, Emalie, Ryan, Olivia, Charlotte, Katherine, Jenya, Brandon, Riley and William. Great-grandchildren Chavonne, Walter, Kevin, Caleb, Landon, Emilie and Ellie. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 12:00 noon with burial to follow at Forest Park-Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road at Dairy Ashford in Houston.
